POSTER: Privacy-preserving Indoor Localization
نویسندگان
چکیده
Upcoming WiFi-based localization systems for indoor environments face a conflict of privacy interests: Server-side localization violates location privacy of the users, while localization on the user’s device forces the localization provider to disclose the details of the system, e.g., sophisticated classification models. We show how Secure Two-Party Computation can be used to reconcile privacy interests in a state-ofthe-art localization system. Our approach provides strong privacy guarantees for all involved parties, while achieving room-level localization accuracy at reasonable overheads.

Poster: Zero-Knowledge Authenticated Order Queries and Applications
Releasing verifiable partial information while maintaining privacy of the rest of the data is a requirement in many practical scenarios. In particular, maintaining an ordered list of elements in a trustworthy and privacy-preserving manner has a number of applications in management of network information and health care data. In this poster, we discuss our efficient, fully dynamic, secure and pr...
متن کاملThe Death and Rebirth of Privacy-Preserving WiFi Fingerprint Localization with Paillier Encryption
Localization based on premeasured WiFi fingerprints is a popular method for indoor localization where satellite based positioning systems are unavailable. In these systems, privacy of the user’s location is lost because the location is computed by the service provider. In INFOCOM’14, Li et al. presented PriWFL, a WiFi fingerprint localization system based on additively homomorphic Paillier encr...

This poster presents a preliminary study on the PerturBoost approach that aims to provide efficient and secure classifier learning in the cloud with both data and model privacy preserved.
متن کاملPoster Abstract: A Case for Magneto-Inductive Indoor Localization
In this work, we show that the magneto-inductive (MI) indoor localization using tri-axial coils possesses unique advantages over the RF-based techniques. The spatial distribution of a generated magnetic field strength can be easily predicted using simple linear models. In addition, the field strength is very stable over time, even in the presence of moving people, which makes MI localization a ...
متن کاملPOSTER: Preserving Privacy and Accountability for Personal Devices
Using personal mobile devices for work gave rise to a trend called “bring your own device”, or BYOD. BYOD brings a productivity boost for employees, but also headaches for employers: on the one hand, the business has a legitimate interest in monitoring the device, in order to prevent security breaches by employees; but on the other hand, employees have a reasonable expectation of privacy when t...
